Ready to respond to a capsize with confidence?
Whether you're a paddler looking to build genuine self-reliance on the water or wanting to develop the safety skills needed before venturing into more exposed conditions, this technical workshop gives you the practical tools to manage open water situations with confidence. You'll start with the fundamentals; learning to safely exit your kayak in deep water, before developing the assisted rescue skills, contact tows, and rough-water re-entry techniques needed to manage group safety when things don't go to plan. We keep the focus on practical, hands-on learning throughout, building your self-rescue capability through paddle float rescues and independent recovery so you're never fully dependent on others to get back on the water. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the technical foundation and hands-on experience to greater handle open water conditions safely and the confidence to back yourself when the conditions test you.
Ideal for paddlers wanting to strengthen safety skills before progressing to more exposed conditions.
