You'll learn to assess rock features and identify solid fixed protection, before working through the core principles that make an anchor genuinely reliable; strength, equalization, redundancy, extension, edge protection, and angle management. We keep the focus on practical, hands-on learning throughout, giving you experience constructing and cleaning a variety of anchor systems across real outdoor terrain, whether you're setting up a top rope, lowering off, or belaying a second. You'll also practice safe transitions between systems, the moments where mistakes most commonly happen, until they become confident, fluid habit. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the technical foundation and practical experience to build solid anchors outdoors and the judgment to adapt them to whatever the rock presents.
