Ready to make smarter decisions before you even reach the water?
Whether you're a paddler looking to build confidence in variable coastal conditions or wanting to develop the forecasting skills needed before venturing further along exposed coastlines, this hands-on workshop gives you the practical tools to read the environment and plan safer, more informed trips. You'll start with the fundamentals; learning to interpret technical weather forecasts, read wind, swell, and weather windows for coastal paddling, before developing a working understanding of tidal cycles and tidal streams and how to factor them into your route planning. We keep the focus on practical, hands-on learning throughout, applying your forecasting skills to realistic scenarios and the kind of on-water decision making that matters when conditions are changing around you. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the technical foundation to plan coastal trips with greater confidence, and the judgement to make better calls when the forecast isn't perfect.
Ideal for paddlers wanting to venture further and paddle more confidently in variable coastal conditions.
