Ready to navigate beyond familiar waters with confidence?
Whether you're a paddler looking to extend your range along the coast or wanting to develop the navigation skills needed before venturing into more remote and exposed environments, this hands-on workshop gives you the practical tools to move through coastal and open water with confidence. You'll start with the fundamentals; learning to read nautical charts, use a compass accurately, and integrate GPS into your navigation toolkit, before developing the passage planning skills and environmental knowledge needed to make sound decisions when conditions demand it. We keep the focus on practical, hands-on learning throughout, building your understanding of tidal patterns, currents, and coastal geography so you can plan routes that work with the environment rather than against it. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the technical foundation to plan safe open water passages, and the confidence to make better judgements when the stakes are higher.
Please note that in the event of inclement weather, this course may be relocated to ensure a better experience. Participants will be notified immediately of any updates.
Secure your spot now to start your journey on the water—a minimum of three participants is required for the course to proceed.
